The 6th International Conference on Computer-Aided Industrial Design and Conceptual Design (CAID&CD'2005)

May 30~June 1, 2005, Delft, The Netherlands

The rapid development of the computer sciences has brought an ultimate change to the methods of design. New theories, methods and technologies appeared successively in recent years, such as Internet-based design, cooperative design, virtual design, intelligent design, digital music and dance, digital museum, virtual human technology, innovative design and design management. A fusion of industrial design with digital arts, conventional design techniques, and modern sciences is becoming reality. This emerging fusion will inevitably make a profound impact on the research, education and practices of industrial design.

As an effective platform bringing the worlds' researchers, scholars, entrepreneurs and corporations together to share experiences and exchange latest studies and findings, the international conference on Computer-Aided Industrial Design & Conceptual Design (CAID&CD) has been held in Guilin, China (1998), Bangkok, Thailand (1999), Hong Kong (2000), Jinan, China (2001), and Hangzhou, China (2003). In succession of the past five, the sixth (CAID&CD'2005) conference will be dedicated to

Applications of digital techniques in industrial design engineering

This Conference is sponsored by the Delft University of Technology-a university that has more than 160 years of history, located in Delft, one of the oldest and most characteristic towns in the Netherlands.

Well-know specialists in the industrial fields will be invited to give lectures and the conference will also invite corporations' members and software users to share their experiences in practice. In addition to academic activities, the conference will invite software vendors to demonstrate new industrial design software and share their experiences in software development.
