China Industrial Design Week is a famous event hosted by China Industrial Design Association periodically. Hosted together by China Industrial Design Association, Jiangsu Provincial Ministry of Science & Technology, Wuxi Municipal Government, 2004 China Industrial Design Week will be held in golden October 2004 in Wuxi by the beautiful lake of Taihu. As one of the developing countries with high speed, China is in great demand of industrial design. In the progress of world economy integration, China likes to learn successful experience of developed countries with more open-minded attitude. Furthermore, we welcome design organizations and designers abroad to develop Chinese market together. With the concept of "Innovation, Exchange, Development of China Design", we will further enhance international exchange and cooperation, promote the application of industrial design by enterprises and serve for China and world economy development.

    "2004 China Industrial Design Week" will provide multi interaction platform and exhibition space, introduce excellent design products abroad and multinational successful design works.We welcome state design promotion organizations, foreign design companies and masters to China.   1. 2004 China International Industrial Design Summit
    We will invite international design organizations, governmental design promotion organizations, state industrial design associations, international famous design award organizations, presidents from multinational and design companies as well as Chinese governmental organizations, design promotion organizations and specialists to attend the events. The core topic is to introduce the design policies, methods and experiences of other countries and submit suggestions to the development of China industrial design.

  2. 2004 China International Senior Forum on Industrial Design
    We will invite famous masters, educationalists, entrepreneurs from multinationals and well-known enterprises and presidents from famous design companies to attend the following forums for exchange and discussion
(1) Forum of Industrial Design and Enterprises Development
(2) Forum of Design Company Mechanism & Commercial Operation
(3) Forum of Industrial Design & Intellectual Asset

  3. 2004 China International Industrial Design Expo
    As an Industrial Design Expo with the highest level of China, we will collect excellent design works, products of well-known brand, design works of universities from domestic and abroad for exhibition and exchange. Area for exhibition will be 12,000m2, which is divided into the following sections.
(1) International famous design works with award
(2) World famous design companies
(3) China industrial design awarded works and theme works
(4) University works
(5) New technology, new products of multinationals at home and abroad

  4. 2004 China Industrial Design Awards
    "China Industrial Design Award" event is held the first time. There will be a TV broadcast for the ceremony of award in the form of evening party. Awards include:
(1) China Industrial Design Award
  "China Industrial Design Award" is the highest award for China industrial design by China Industrial Design Association. An appraisal will be held for recommended excellent works from various competitions since 2000 for the first China industrial design award.
(2) Theme Design Competition of 2004 China Industrial Design Week
  The competition organized by the Organizing Committee and enterprises will select entry works all over China. Audience and specialists will vote entry works.
(3) Honor those masters and specialists with great contributions to China industrial design.

  5. Opening Ceremony for Wuxi (State) Industrial Design Park
(1) Opening ceremony
  Wuxi (State) Industrial Design Park is the first industrial design park in China approved by the State Ministry of Science & Technology. It covers area of 3Km2. There have been some enterprises and design companies there and obtained prospective profit. An opening ceremony will be held on October 2004.
(2) Industrial Design Investment Seminar
  The event will be held in the park. We will invite enterprises, R & D, design companies at home and abroad to start their operation there. We will hold a meeting for exchange and cooperation between enterprises and designers. Meanwhile, a design talent exchange activity will be held.
