BACKGROUND:
The rapid development of the computer science has brought an ultimate change to the methods of design. New design theories, methods and technologies appeared successively in recent years. The past four international conferences on CAID&CD has already built an effective platform that brought government officials, scholars, entrepreneurs and corporations together to share experiences and exchange latest study and findings.¡¡
Under the academic efforts from home and aboard, the research on computer-aided industrial design and conceptual design is developing deeper and deeper while the researching scope became larger and larger. Art, design and science are mixed together more and more. As the rapid grow of the digital technologies, new fields of design, such as Internet innovative design, cooperative design, virtual design, intelligent design, digital music and dance, digital museum, virtual human technology, innovative design and design management, have made a great achievement. Today, ¡¡¡°Digital Art and Design¡± has already become a focus of the scholars in the world.
The fifth international conference on CAID and CD will be held in Hangzhou city, a beautiful city which famous for the West Lake, during the annually West Lake Exposition. It will be participated by leading universities, design institutions, and design software developers worldwide. Well-know specialists in the field will be invited to give lectures, and the conference will also invite corporations¡¯ members and software users. The conference will be held as an international event for paper presentations, sharing CAID/CD experience. Accepted conference papers and invited lectures will be published in the conference proceedings which will be published with a formal publish number by the mechanical industry publish house. Selected papers will be recommended to the famous Chinese journals and the first-level magazines.
