“PURE” THEME DESIGN AWARD This event started from 1997 at Jiangnan University by Prof. Jiayang Lin and Mr. Taiqiang Jin cooperated. It was called “National University Students Visual Design Award” . Now, It become the biggest and most important university student design award in China.

OUR CONSIDERATION ABOUT THE DESIGN PRINCIPLE In the face of environmental pollution, the destruction of ecological resources and the economic crisis, the National University Students Master Designer Award committee embraces the need for the development of society. Hence, this year’s competition is about "simple" designs, which offer creative ideas and new values for a modern life.
Originality:the design should have a strong connotation of innovation Functional:the design should be user-friendly and its function as intended Application:the design is expected to have a practical application, either as a product or a service Continuity:the design should take into account new technologies and the application of new materials to promote energy saving and environmental protection Aesthetic:The design should be aesthetic
OUR GOAL To inspire students’ creativity and concerns for the patterns of life through simple and economical creative design, and to create a social atmosphere of innovation. To build a platform, which unites higher learning, the government, businesses and the market place of commercial design. To explore and create a Chinese-style of "simple & economical" innovation. To provide students with opportunities of patent creation, free patent application and entrepreneurship.

"National university students master designer award" has become the most popular exhibition platform for design among contemporary college students. This year, the competition takes "pure" as its theme. Commissioned by the Shanghai Creative Industry Base and Intellectual Property Rights Center in Pudong, Shanghai, it invites university students from all over the country to join the creative design trip. “Constraint-less designs for a wonderful and creative life.”
Shanghai is one of the country’s leading venues for creative design. It’s almost 80 business parks house a number of outstanding government-appointed masters of original design, and have thus managed to gather a substantial amount of China’s design talent. This competition therefore provides a good opportunity for top university students to experience and become part of Shanghai’s industrial design world.

LEGAL NOTICES
1.) Every competitor should hand in his own material. This also requires a valid form of personal identification (i.e. Passport, Student card) upon competition registration. As the organizers of the competition will not explicitly verify this, they are not to be held responsible for any violations in this matter. However, upon knowledge of identity fraud the contestant will immediately be excluded from the competition. 2.) The competitor should insure the originality of his/her work. Any form of copying, theft or violation of intellectual property rights is strictly prohibited. In case of non-adherence, the competitor should take all responsibility, and make sure that the organizing committee is not held responsible to any extent. 3.) In regard to the great amount of submitted projects, the committee finds that it can under no circumstances monitor or inspect the above. Consequently, it may not be held responsible for any form of violation. Any form of fraud or violation will be punished with the disqualification from the competition and derecognition of any awarded prizes. The committee reserves itself the right to demand compensation for any potential or real losses it may face in such an event. The committee will not take any legal responsibility for participant’s tort actions. The legal responsibility lies fully within the domain of the delinquent himself. 4.) According to law the committee will not publish or spread work related to any one of the topics mentioned below: Work against the fundamentals of the constitution Endangerment of national security, disclosure of national secrets, seizure of governmental power, disruption of the countries unity Harming national honor and interests Instigation of national hatred or the discrimination of minorities, as well as the disruption of national unity Disruption of national religious policies, or the spreading of superstition or non-scientific beliefs The spreading of rumors capable of disrupting national order and social stability Display of pornographic content, gambling, violence, murder, terrorism, and crime Humiliation or insultation of others, or the infringement of other’s legal rights Any other actions prohibited by laws or regulations 5.) In order for everyone to benefit the most from this years competition, we ask participants to keep their projects exclusive to our award for the extent of the event. Once you have submitted your project to the competition, all commercial usage will be prohibited to you for the course of half a year. In case of non-adherence the contestant will immediately be excluded from the competition. The committee reserves itself the right to demand compensation for any potential or real losses it may face in such an event. 6.) Should a contestant’s work be subject to damage or loss during the transportation process to the competition, the committee will bare no arising costs. 7.) Submitted work will not be returned by the committee. Contestants are therefore advised to make a personal a copy prior to the event. 8.) Once a project is submitted the copyright will automatically be shared between the committee and the participant. Nevertheless, the creator is still entirely entitled to the signature rights. 9.) If, in the eyes of the committee, an entry requires patenting and/or licensing, it will make applications for the “appearance design patent” on behalf of the participant, the committee and also its sponsors. – Essentially dividing the patent between these parties. Should any fees or other monetary obligations arise from the above; the committee will pay for these for the extent of one year. Afterwards this responsibility will pass over to the participant. 10.) The committee reserves itself the final explanation rights for any doubtful points arising from these rules or in the event of issues or questions arising during the competition.
