Calling for Entries INTRODUCTION

In November 2006, The First“East+West”International College Students Poster Biennial(EWPB) was successfully held in Wuhan by Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, which is one of the eight art academies in China and the only one of its kind in central China with a history of eighty-eight years. In the six-month calling for entries, a total sum of 2 615 pieces/series of poster works by college students were received, and among them 2 595 pieces/series were qualified as pre-selected works. The participating students represented over 300 colleges of art and design from China (including its Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao), Japan, Australia, South Korea, and the United States.

Aiming at blending traditional eastern culture and modern western culture into design, and further developing art and design education in China, The 2nd “East-West” International College Students Poster Biennial is to be held both in Wuhan and Beijing in 2008, with Kumnam Baik (South Korea), Tony Meeuwissen (U.K.) , Fang Chen (China), Philippe Apeloig (France) ,Phil Risbeck (U.S.), among others, being its judges.

ELIGIBLE WORKS
Entry works should be printed on A4 paper or in the size of 11×8.5 inches (mounting not required), plus the electric document form, available for website and printing with a size of 50cm×70cm, and in the type of JPEP or TIF image, no less than 300dpi.

ENTRY FEE:
1. For domestic participants, RMB¥30 for each entry work, RMB¥50 for serial works (a series shall be no more than four pieces); for overseas participants and those not from the mainland of China, US$20 for each entry work, US$30 for serial works (a series shall be no more than four pieces).
2. The entry fee should be sent through the post office to the following address:

3. The entry fee is due to July 15, 2008. If not received by then, the corresponding works will not be judged.

COPYRIGHTS
1. Entries should be creations or pieces by the entrants.
2. The organizing committee should disqualify the entrant if there were any intellectual property or copyrights problems or conflicts about the entry work.
3. The sponsor and the organizing committee retain the rights to exhibition, publishing and collection of the prize winning works and selected works.
