The goal of the awards is to seed and cultivate our shared desire for a better world. The result of the Shrinkage Worldwide Awards are multi-disciplinary, multi-use posters which explore, divulge, foster, sensitise and awaken both shrinkage culture and experience.

The completion of the Shrinkage Worldwide Awards will build the foundation for the realization of a unique, informative and educative art and design experience which contributes to the momentum of a sustainable future by providing an experience that provokes and stretches the minds of its viewers.

Eligibility
The Shrinkage Worldwide Award is Open to Anyone. It is intended to promote designers who are thinking about a sustainable future. We encourage submissions from all disciplines including art, architecture, interior design, industrial design, experience design, communication design, graphic design, digital design, and urban planning, as well as decision-makers, thinkers, theoreticians and industries. We are looking for evidence of a productive cross- and inter- collaborative work between disciplines.

Guideline
Design a poster manifesto to promote and divulgate the shrinkage culture.

PRIZES
Finalist-winning entries will be chosen at  the jury's discretion and announced enter 28 December 2007. The entries will be showcased at SAP(Seeschau Art Pavilion) in Zürich and at major art and science institutions.

REQUIREMENTS
Submit as many entries as you'd like; send a separate submittal form and entry fee 30 EUR, and 20 EUR students (for each entry). Entries are due by Monday, November 19, 2007. The international jurors will make their decision based on the design’s simplicity, intellectuality and clarity of transmitting the message to ordinary people and professionals. Their assessment will be based on the award programme and the following criteria: clear realization of shrinkage culture, openness to all levels of nations‘ and societies’ cultures, distinctive and those that entice the viewer to unfold and discover the shrinkage culture.

FORMAT AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
You must submit a labelled, colour proof with your digital file that meets the requirements listed below. Information you provide on the entry-form and synopsis will be used as your personal information and will accompany your submission should it be selected. Write legibly, be as complete as possible and double-check all spelling. Incomplete or illegible entry-forms will be disqualified.
Submit a copy of your file on CD with the following specifications:
+ 350 dpi resolution
+ size A0, 841 mm x 1189 mm (exactly) yourname.tiff
+ size A4, 210 mm x 297 mm (exactly) yourname.jpeg
+ TIFF or EPS files only – CMYK colour (not RGB)
+ PDFs, JPEGs, PageMaker, InDesign and Quark files not accepted
+ synopsis-text .doc format (max 150 words) yourname_synopsis.doc
+ the entry-form in paper-based print version, and signed by author. In the of a multi-disciplinary team entry the main contact person needs to sign.

Please print and use block capitals to fill in the entryform. It is important that you read all of the information carefully before starting to complete the entry-form.

DISK LABELLING
The labelling of your CD is necessary. Please print a directory of the contents and label your disc(s) with the following information:
+ the Shrinkage Worldwide Awards 2007
+ Your name
+ File name(s) (please use 8 characters or less)
+ File format (.TIFF, .EPS)
+ File size in megabytes (MB)
+ Image size (metric)
submissions cannot be returned

Unacceptable Material
Poster(s) that, propagate "hate" messages, make defamatory statements, or which are otherwise extraordinarily offensive are not eligible.

Disqualification
Ineligible entries may be disqualified at any phase of the award/competition without notification.

Acknowledgement of Entries
Entrants will receive an email acknowledgement when an entry has been received.

Terms and Conditions of Entry
The Shrinkage Worldwide Award (SWA) assumes all entries are original and the entrant either owns the poster/work or has permission from a client/team/organization or other appropriate party to enter the work, with all rights granted therein. The Shahneshin Foundation is not responsible for incorrect information provided on entry forms that misrepresents the copyright of original ownership of ideas. The Shrinkage Worldwide Award (SWA) is not liable for any copyright infringement on the part of the entrant. Submission of any entry acknowledges the right of the Shrinkage Worldwide Award (SWA) to use it for exhibition and publication in any medium. Timely submission of an entry meeting the eligibility requirements and payment of the entry fee as stated herein ensure that an entrant's work will be reviewed and considered for recognition. No other representation or warranty is made by the Shrinkage Worldwide Award (SWA) concerning entries and all implied warranties are hereby expressly disclaimed. If an entrant's work receives an award, the manner and details of announcing such nomination and award is strictly within the discretion of the Shahneshin Foundation the Shrinkage Worldwide Award (SWA).

Entrant understands that all awards may not be given or publicized in the same manner and some might be presented in a ceremony and others might not.

Submissions by 19 November 2007. All entries must be postmarked by 19 November 2007. No entries will be accepted after 19 November 2007, unless there is clear the postmarked-date of the submission date.

The Shahneshin Foundation shall not be responsible for (i) lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, illegible or postage due mail, or (ii) any other problems relating to postal delivery of entries, including, but not limited to, lost or damaged entries, damage to artwork, or incorrect mailing address information.

Detailed entry instructions
Entrants may register online using the online entry form or by printing-out the entry form on a white-colour A4 page and fill-out all the required sections. (By clicking on the ENTRY FORM link located in the navigation bar of the award programme site, you will gain access to the entry form in which to officially register your entry/participation). An Entry (work/poster) is considered submitted only after a completed entry form printed, entry fee, a CD with the digital version of your work/poster within the SWA requirements (read carefully the brief) are in one package received by the Shahneshin Foundation the Shrinkage Worldwide Award (SWA) and payment for the entry fee is received.

Winner(s) and Commented Entries
A panel of distinguished interdisciplinary jurors will choose the winning(s) between first and second week of December. The winner will be featured in a special publication, and magazines and on www.shahneshinfoundation.org. The winner(s) will be notified by the 28th December 2007.
