| Here it is a contest for illuminated mind
PPML is pleased to proclaim the ¡°1st OLED Design ESIGN CONTEST EVENT¡±. It is a competition of ideas opened to everybody but mainly targeted for Architecture and European School of Design students, young architects and light designers.
CONTEST GOALS
OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) are new lighting sources composed by flexible sheet and tiles with high luminous efficiency. They last 10000 hours, they save 30% of energy of traditional lamps, they are flexible like plastic sheet.
Based on the extreme innovation features of this revolutionary technology, participants are invited to submit at least two projects by freely choosing appliance market. Hence, OLED could be used as source of ¡°light designed¡± to create especial atmosphere or scenario in the room. The contest intend to be a tool focused to highlight originality and versatility of this new technology, by taking advantage by the peculiarity that differentiate it from other
different illumination technologies: Low thickness (mm) Rigid or flexible panels with maximum dimension of 30 cm x 30 cm Multi ¨C color Flat light with high intensity (1000 cd/ m2) Low energetic consumption (30% less than traditional lamp) High endurance (10000 working time) Low energy dissipation as heat (cold light)
The contest slogan, that will represent project evaluation parameter, will be ¡°With OLED, I can do it¡±.

REGISTRATION All participants should enrol either through our website (by compiling and submitting the form on line) or through mail services (by filling in and sending the enrollment form). Upon registration, participants will receive a mail to the mailbox specified.
PROJECT PROPOSAL Competitors or team of competitors, could submit a maximum of two different projects. They should choose one of the following : • One A1 format panel • Four A3 format panel • A CD-ROM containing a digital copy of the idea
If considered useful for better idea understanding, participants are encouraged to submit in MPE or AVI animation.
There are no regulations concerning the content of the panel. Competitors or team of competitors must decide themselves on the most effective ways to present their proposal. Obviously, the submitted proposal have to include all details useful to clearly understand the idea.
JUDGING
Jury will give an award of: • 5.000,00 € to the first classified • 2.000,00 € to the second classified
Jury will have the right to recognize additional awards to particularly deserving ideas.
Final classification will be defined based on the following criteria: • Originality/Novelty of the idea • Feasibility to build a prototype and to industrialize the proposed idea • Possibility to commercialize and disseminate the idea on its market • Idea¡¯s peculiarity (how the proposal is stitched on OLED features)
