Winners
Up to three winners selected from the shortlist will receive ¡ê5,000 funding each to further develop their ideas and to be fast-tracked into NESTA¡¯s Invention and Innovation programme. They will receive a D&AD student pencil and also have their work published in the D&AD Professional Awards Annual and Student Awards Annual, be included on the D&AD Bloodbank website, and receive free D&AD New Blood membership as well as a winners certificate.

Shortlist
All shortlisted entrants for this award will win ¡ê1,000 prize money and a D&AD Student Pencil, a winners certificate, have their work published in the D&AD Student Awards Annual and be invited to take up D&AD New Blood membership. Student of the Year Award The Student of the Year Award is selected by the D&AD Executive Committee.
All winning entries from each category in the Student Awards including the shortlist from the D&AD NESTA Product Design and Innovation Awards are put forward to compete for Student of the Year.

Judging
Judging takes place in the first week of May. The judges view all the submitted work, and select the shortlisted entries. Deliverables Each entry must consist of artwork mounted securely onto A2 lightweight boards (420mm x 549 mm), up to a maximum of four, plus any supporting work - ie. 3D model, sketchbook, CD Rom etc. included with your entry. If more than four boards are submitted the additional boards will not be judged. If you are sending a 3D model as your entry please label and package securely. If you are sending any digital material please submit on a Mac format CD ROM/DVD. Please test before sending as digital files that cannot be opened will not be judged.

Delivery of submissions
Please mark your parcel with your college name for easy identification. Each parcel should be marked 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 and be packaged together if possible.

Copyright
It is essential that all work submitted is original and that no copyright has been infringed. A course leader or tutor must sign the entry form to verify that the work is original. Work will not be accepted without this signature.

Eligibility
All full-time, part-time (HND, BTEC, BA, BSc, BEng, MA, MEng, MSc, MDes or equivalent) students studying at Universities, Colleges and Art Schools in the UK, Europe and overseas are eligible to enter the competition. Entries can be submitted in a group or individually. Briefs are set and must be completed in the English language.

Entry form, project description form and identification labels
Entry form, project description form and identification labels are at the back of the brochure. Please photocopy. They are also on our website and can be downloaded from www.dandad.org
Each entry needs the following completed.
1. An identification label must be completed and securely attached to the reverse of each board and item entered and must be numbered clearly 1 of 4, 2 of 4 etc.
2. A project description form must be completed and enclosed with each entry ¨C it will be read alongside the work by the Judging Panel and will play an important part in the selection of the shortlist. 3. Each entry must be logged on the entry form. If you are sending in a bulk college submission of many entries please ensure they are all listed on the same entry form.

26 MARCH 2004 BY 5PM

Please note that we must receive the work by this date. No entries received after this date will be entered into the competition.

Entry fee and payment
The entry fee is ¡ê15.00 (US$23.00, €25.00) or ¡ê12.00 (US$18.00, €20.00) per entry to College Network Members. If you are unsure whether your college is a member of D&AD please contact the College Programme Manager at D&AD. Payment can be made by credit card, cheque or if you include a valid purchase order we will invoice the college.

Payment
All payments must be made to D&AD. Where individuals are paying by cheque they must include the name of the entrant and college on the reverse of the cheque.

Overseas payment
If you are paying from outside the UK we can only accept Eurocheques (up to ¡ê700 value for each cheque), credit cards (Visa, Mastercard,Switch, American Express or Diners card) or sterling bank drafts drawn on UK banks only.

Collection of work
Work will be sorted by college name for collection. It is not acceptable for individuals to collect their work.
Work that hasn¡¯t been selected for the Student Awards Annual will be available for collection from late-May. Please call the College Student Awards Manager to confirm that work is ready for collection and then organise your own courier. Work that has been selected for the Student Awards Annual will take longer to become available as it will be used during the proofing of the Annual. It will be ready from the end of May. Work that is unclaimed by 30 September will be disposed of. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the safety of all work, D&AD cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to work submitted under any circumstances.
