Eligibility
Eligibility extends to all German and foreign manufacturers and designers in respect of industrially manufactured products launched on the market within the last two years. One-off craft objects are not eligible as entries. Each entrant may submit any number of products. Award decisions are taken directly by the jury, no preliminary selection takes place.

Conditions for entries
Inclusion as an exhibit in the red dot design museum and the online exhibition
Each award winning product will be presented in the permanent exhibition in the red dot design museum and the online exhibition for at least one year. The space allotted to the presentation in the red dot design museum will be in accordance with the size of the product taking account of a peripheral area for viewing. The minimum presentation space for each award winning product is one exhibition unit. Presentation in the online exhibition corresponds to the presentation of text and picture material in the yearbook entry.

Inclusion in the Yearbook
Subject to a fee each award winning product will be presented in the Yearbook on a 1/3 page. Winners of the "red dot: best of the best" and the "red dot: intelligent design" awards will be presented exclusively on 2/1 pages. Presentation in the Yearbook is binding on all red dot design award winners, all of whom receive one complimentary copy of the Yearbook on publication.

Communication service
All award winners automatically receive the basic package for the communication service. This consists of the data package on label use, the press service, the four week special presentation in the red dot design museum including guided tour, the Club Card for the red dot design museum and a certificate for manufacturers and designers. Acceptance of this basic package is mandatory for all winners.

Deliveries
For deliveries from non-EU countries, we request you to declare the products correctly for customs purposes. Your local customs office can provide you with further details. The circumstances of the building do not permit the mounting of exhibits on the walls. The entrant is to ensure that the exhibits are properly delivered into the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. All equipment required (lift trucks, ramps etc.) is to be provided by the entrant. Please advise your forwarding agent or deliverer accordingly, as additional costs incurred during delivery will be passed on to the entrant.
