Theme: Design and Styling of an FCEV Part II ¡°Proposals for Vehicles of the Future¡°

Hints for coming up with ideas
As the starting point for your design work, you must learn just what a fuel cell is, what stage of development the fuel cell is at, about its related components, and other elements that at times are quite different from those of conventional automobiles. In this contest participants are asked to do this research on their own. Thanks to such tools as the internet, today it is possible for individuals to acquire very advanced information.

There are still many unknown factors about the use of fuel cells as sources of power. There are a number of different types of fuel cells. In all cases, however, automobiles that run on fuel cells are EVs (electric vehicles). In other words, there is no need to link the power source and wheels mechanically, so there is a great deal of freedom for the layout, and thus much space to make use of your design capabilities.

(The theme and procedure for participating in this year¡®s competition is the same as for last year. We should note however that one reason many of the entries were disqualified last year was that they demonstrated a lack of basic knowledge about automobiles in terms of driving functions, safety, etc.)

¡ï Categories
Entrants will be divided into two categories: the Student Division and the General Division. The studentdivision is for those who will be registered in university or college at the time of the final deadline for preliminary screening; others will be entered in the general division.
